European Sales Manager – Plant-Based Protein

This is a new position in a business that has some incredible trademarked ingredients, as well as being able to offer bespoke solutions in the plant-based protein arena.
You can be home-based anywhere in the UK, but expect plenty of travel across Europe as you build connections with new customers – key areas being RTM beverages, meal replacement bars, sports nutrition and lifestyle nutrition, as well as the more mainstream food industry, both sweet and savoury applications.
With a new business focus, you’ll shape the company’s go-to-market offering, perform a gap analysis of its portfolio and get conversations going with key customers in this space, including co-manufacturers. You’ll have all the tools you need – really high quality ingredients, strong marketing support, dedicated R&D and a very solid supply chain.
The business sees huge potential here, so, whilst you’ll initially have one direct report, your people management remit is likely to increase as more customers are on-boarded. There’s a clear path to take on more responsibility and the rewards that go with that – but we’re looking for someone who enjoys the hands-on business development focus to take the business unit to that point.
The successful candidate for this role will have significant experience selling proteins on a B2B level, either plant-based such as pea, or more traditional sources such as whey. You’ll have a track record of winning new business, have a wide network of connections in this sector and of course, be up to date with all of the latest developments to recognise what customers want now and what you need to be offering them next. A technical degree or exposure to R&D teams through your sales positions will be important.
